Bethany Community School Kids Learn Fire Safety

Fire department does a live demonstration of how quickly fire can spread inside a building.

At a recent ourdoor assembly, students at Bethany Community School watched a demonstration run by Fire Captain Brent Ciccarelli and Assistant Chief Sean Uscilla. A fire was started inside a "burn cube" and, within only a few minutes, the entire interior was engulfed in flames then quickly put out by the fire department. The event was designed to bring home the importance of fire safety, and the children learned the basics of what to do from calling 911 to "stop, drop and roll."
