District Opens Search for New Amity Superintendent

The Amity BOE is working with the CT Association of Boards of Education as it looks for someone to fill Dr. John Brady's shoes.


The search is on.

With Dr. John Brady retiring in June, the Amity Regional School District Board of Education has reopened the search for a new superintendent.

"The Board has asked the CT Association of Boards of Education (CABE) to again assist with the facilitation of the search. Much of the information gathered last spring will be used to prepare vacancy notices, inform candidates and advertise," according to a message posted Jan. 30 on the district's website. "The vacancy has been posted with an application deadline of March 10, 2013."

The message goes on to say that Dr. Jacqueline Jacoby, CABE Senior Search Consultant, will be working closely with the Amity BOE.

The Amity Board of Education seeks a Superintendent that values the input and participation of families and communities in decision making and is passionate abouteducational excellence in learning, teaching and service to its families. Strong emphasis will be placed on the following qualifications and attributes: an intelligent, skillful communicator who can build relationships with all constituents; a progressive instruction leader; an individual who can maintain a high level of personal accessibility and visibility; an educator who will uphold the district mission to educate and enable every student while fostering a climate of accountability and high standards for all; and an adept financial manager with knowledge and experience in complex regional budgeting.
