Plan Bee: Where Does Your Honey for Rosh Hashana Come From?

For children and adults.  2 local beekeepers will lead us on a journey into the world of HONEY.  Come to Congregation Beth El - Keser Israel, New Haven (BEKI) to examine a safe observation hive, taste honey as it is extracted from the comb, enjoy our local honey-tasting, learn about whether all honey is kosher and why we use it on Rosh Hashana, taste an array of wonderful honey-laden treats and gather new recipes for your holiday table (or any time!), make a 9-strand braided beeswax havdala candle to take home, buy local honey for your holiday table - and enter our contest to name the unique and one-time only BEKI-harvested special label honey!  For more information or to offer a special honey recipe for the program, contact Darryl at kuperst@aol.com or 203-3887-0304.  Please note:No bees will be loose at program, but for those concerned, medical personnel will be on-site.
