Amity Board of Ed to Set Goals for Upcoming Year

The annual process targets a few new areas each year.

The Amity Board of Education will meet Thursday evening to consider new goals for the upcoming school year. The board will also look back at the current school year and see how goals were met.

There were eight goals on last year's list including finding ways to encourage students to become interested in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics); instituting a new class schedule and also more general goals that have to do with continuous improvements to curriculum and money management.

Superintendent of Schools John Brady offered no sneak peek at his goals for next year.

There will be no public participation at Thursday's meeting.

"It is just the board and me reviewing progress made toward 2012 goals and discussion of 2013 goals," Brady says. The board will take no action and the goals decided upon will be on the agenda for the June 11 board of education meeting.
