Amity High's Former Goalie Dominates at Amherst

Allie Horwitz, of Woodbridge, has the fewest goals given up in the league.

Just a few years ago, Allie Horwitz was shutting down opponents as the Amity High School soccer goalie. Now she’s doing the same thing at Amherst College as the top goalie in the league.

Horwitz, class of 2012, was named to the first All-NESCAC team due to her incredible season. She ranks first in the league in goals-against average and third in save percentage. She’s had seven shutouts this season, and her career record is 47-12-4.

With Horwitz back in the net, the team won its third NESCAC title. She started the year with 376 scoreless minutes. After she gave up her first goal, she responded by shutting down the next three teams.
