Amity Rugby Enters Third Season

Players looking forward to more wins this spring.

In just a few years The Amity rugby club has grown from a handful of boys who were curious and excited to get a new team started to this year - with enough players signed up to field an "A" and "B" sides. Amity will play in division two of the CT Rugby Union (www.ctrugby.org) with Southington, Stamford, Madison, New London, Hartford and West Hartford.
Two players are still with the club from season one, seniors Tyler Bishop, a fullback and Eddie Walsh, a forward flanker. Joining these two will be eleven players who started last spring.

The experience Amity now has will give them a strong shot at beating local clubs like Madison, New London, Southington and Cheshire. Other games on tap for 2012 will be against Fairfield Prep, Hartford, Stamford Academy and clubs from Fairfield County.

Since the rugby club is not yet a varsity program tied directly to the school, any high school age student interested in learning rugby is welcome to join the club including local residents who may be attending private schools n the area.
