Bethany Parks & Recreation Ski Trip to Mount Southington

This is a Bethany Parks & Recreation sponsored ski trip for skiers and snowboarders.

Who can attend? Anyone who is 4th grade or older.  Skiers and snowboarders who are beginners, intermediate or advanced skiers and boarders. Children younger may attend only with a parent.  Parents must sign the permission slip and waiver indicating the level of ski trails their child is allowed to use. Adult leader for these trips is Heidi Gianquinto.  Please note that bus space will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.  Register early so as not to be disappointed.

We will leave the Town Hall parking lot promptly at 4:30pm, so have your child here by 4:15p.m.  We cannot wait for late arrivals.  We ski from 6:00pm to 10pm. and will be back at the Town Hall parking lot at 11:00pm.

CostAdvanced Beginner. Intermediate and Expert skiers.  $36 for lift ticket and transportation.  If you want a ski lift and rental your total is $55.  Snowboard lift and rental is $65. Ski lift and lesson is $53.  Snowboard lift and lesson is:  $56.  Beginner ski package (INCLUDES RENTAL, LESSON, TICKET) IS $60.  Beginner snowboard package is $68 for lesson, rental, and ticket.  Payment: Make checks out to Bethany Parks & Recreation or pay in cash (exact amount please). Payment and registration is due 1 week before each trip.  Food may be brought to eat at the area or participants may purchase food there.

General Guidelines - Advanced beginners have skied to the point where they can ski green circle (easy) trails and link turns on their own. They can also ride a chairlift without a problem. Intermediates can ski moderately at a variety of speeds on blue square trails. They are starting to bring their skis parallel at the end of a turn and can link turns well. Experts consistently ski with skis parallel and have good control on all types of terrain and surfaces. They can ski black diamond trails.   Please note: Tickets will be taken away if participant cannot ski the trail they are on, if they ski recklessly, or if the trip rules are not being followed (rules are on the back of this sheet please go over them with your child).
