Woodbridge Woman Headed for the London Olympics

Margaux Farrell of , who for other events while on the Amity High School swim team, will swim in the London Olympics for France this summer.

According to an article by the Connecticut Post, Farrell will compete as a member of France’s women’s 4x200 meter relay team. The 4x200 meter competition is scheduled for Aug. 1, the Post said.

Farrell has dual citizenship and her mother, Sylvie Farrell, was a member of the French national swim team.

While competing for Amity, Margaux set school records for the 50-yard, 100-yard, 200-yard and 500-yard freestyle events, and her 100-yard time was the state record. She recently graduated with a journalism degree from the University of Indiana and was All-American in 2011.
